About the founder
Hi there, my name is Laura. all are welcome here.
This is the space where I’m supposed to talk about myself and convince you through sharing my extensive experience that I’m qualified to impact your life. The most impressionable thing I can say is this: All I’ve ever wanted to do is to see people do well and to try my best to leave this world a little better than I found it.
I wish I could change the whole world, but if I can help guide you to change yours in a meaningful way, then that effects those who interact with you, which in turn effects them, and so on and so on. This is the very foundation of ripl. and why I founded it: One change changes everything.™
I majored in psychology because I always wanted to be of service and I find people fascinating. In fact my favorite quote is “Gonna spend the rest of my life making people feel less broken.” However, I took a large detour into the legal field, initially as a paralegal, then into business management. I eventually launched my own business, The Ironstone Nest, to follow my creative passion for bringing new life to the overlooked: teaching people the value of antiques and upcycling furniture, while also guiding them to see their own worth.
Today, I leverage the organizational talents and management skills I cultivated during my 25 year career, my passion for seeing others do well, as well as my creativity, to support individuals and companies in the areas of content marketing, life strategy, business management, as well as professional and personal boundaries. Through my latest career evolution, ripl. Consulting, I want to walk alongside you together to author a new story aligned with your truth with intentionality, courage and purpose. I believe we do this one step, one change at a time.
As a frequent speaker at events and conferences , as well as appearing as a monthly guest on a TV talk show, people have shared my compassionate, honest, feisty spirit inspires and uplifts them to believe in themselves the way I see them. In fact, I’m often told I’ve never met a stranger. I believe “if you see something in someone, speak it” because we’re all wired for connection by nature.
A very proud Detroit “Motown” native, I now reside in much warmer Atlanta with my family and rescue animals.
My biggest influencers: Maya Angelou, Brene Brown, Mel Robbins, Bob Goff, Sue Monk Kidd, Paulo Coelho, Eckhart Tolle, Jordan Peterson, Peter Crone, Simon Sinek, and you.
My proudest accomplishments: Detroit Marathon (26.2 miles), teaching workshops and experiencing the moment when people realize their true capacity, and building my businesses from the ground up while raising 3 incredible children.
